Once the site of a legendary music recording studio and now home to twelve ultra-sustainable and stylish live/work lofts, Lofts @ Cherokee Studios was recently the venue of a rock-and-roll-inspired designer showcase: Rock-n-Platinum, which raised funds for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (HFHGLA).
Participating designers (Lori Dennis Interior Design, RC Design Federation, Jennifer Siegal, Sandra Sharma of Blank Space, and Cisco Home) all decked out a loft in the spirit of a musician who inspired them, resulting in some of the most creative and lively showcase designs around. Organizers of the event partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (HFHGLA) for the showcase, donating proceeds from ticket sales for the opening benefit party (which included a live performance by Ben Lee and Blue Sky Reality) and public tours (which took place on weekends throughout the month of November) to the cause. HFHGLA builds and rehabilitates hundreds of homes each year for those who need them most, incorporating green building principles into everything that they do. The rock-n-roll benefit party took place on October 15th and the showcase was open to the public through November 19th.
