Why do I look forward to Legends of La Cienega all year? Is it mingling with my colleagues, some of best interior designers in Los Angeles? The exquisitely curated showrooms? The “scene and be seen” cocktail parties? Chatting it up with my editor and blog friends? The provocative programming? YES!! It’s all that and I love being outdoors in spring in Los Angeles. I’m not sure if there’s another preeminent design district in the world that has the great weather that we do.
This year (May 8-10) expect to see window designs and lectures from tastemakers like Kelly Wearstler and Timothy Corrigan as well as celebrity interior designers like Mary McDonald, Kathryn Ireland and Thom Felicia and of course, designers who cater to the stars like Jeff Andrews.
With shops like Dragonette, Jean de Merry, Baker, Connoisseur Antiques, Jasper, Nathan Turner , Quatrain and so many more one is sure to find treasures ranging from period antiques to contemporary designs to fabulous vintage pieces. I always come away from these places feeling inspired and ready to elevate my craft.
I so love taking two days from “office work” to explore some of the finest products in the world right here in my back yard, without having to get on a plane and leave my darling husband and daughter.
