We’re Thankful to Be Part of an Incredible Design Community and we continue to be inspired by our Instagram followers, a collections of designers, artists, DIY’ers, and other creatives. We asked them the Reasons We Love Interior Design. Why do they love interior design so much? We received some inspiring feedback. Here are some of the fascinating responses we received that provide some insight into why design goes beyond aesthetics and has the capacity to change lives.

15 Reasons We Love Interior Design

Reasons We Love Interior Design…

lovely interior design of kitchen in Los Angeles
@daysieann: I love interior design Bc it is my passion it makes feel alive and happy. Interior design is beautiful and pleasing to the eye. I love to help clients turn their home into something beautiful and it warms my heart and makes me happy to see them excited at how their home looks. I love to make people happy that way it is a true blessing . And I spend my time doing what I truly love .

How Interior Design Can Change Lives

Our environments have major influence on how we experience the world and move through it. That’s why we’ve been working with organizations like Pen & Napkin and a Sense of Home, who our friends at Lamps Plus introduced us to. Together, we furnish the homes of families transitioning out of homelessness or the foster care system. When they open their apartment door to a fully furnished home, their faces light up and their lives are truly transformed. We wrote about the process and results in greater detail here. And you can watch Lori’s Ted Talk on the subject here:

@entessarinteriors: Because beautiful designs can change lives.❤❤

@pratastudio: My go to phrase “We shape our dwellings and afterwards our dwellings shape us….”, said by Winston Churchill in 1944…I do it for the philosophical/sociological reasons and because I see life through rose colored glasses!

How Interior Design Affects Out Psychology

@jasmina_dj3Creating a unique and personalized environment is important for our emotional well-being.

This couldn’t be more true! We’re outside-in kinda people who work in design. What do we mean by that? Well we believe so strongly that your environment has a huge influence over your emotional well being. That’s part of what inspired the Quadrant Life book and movement. We started to see the connection between design and the other ‘quadrants’ of our lives. The overlap is undeniable! Unfamiliar with The Quadrant Life? Check it out here and join our #QuadSquad 😉
